It is possible to connect to the Whitman network through an ethernet connection.  Such a connection is very fast and is good for desktop machines and laptops that are often in one location (such as a dorm room or office). 

Connecting to the ethernet at Whitman is very easy.  You only need a standard 8-wire ethernet cable (sold in the bookstore) which can connect your computer to any of the ethernet jacks across campus.
