Introduction

What is WebAdvisor?

Web advisor is a web based program you can use to view information contained in the administrative computing system using a web browser. This information includes Student grades, schedules, and financial aid information, Staff leave balances, Faculty class listings and class rosters and access to the current class offerings. To access the information you need to have your E-mail username and password handy.

How do I get access?

Open a web browser (Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer) and go to webadvisor.whitman.edu.
On this page, in the upper right hand corner, there is a tab labled Log In.

Note: You MUST first navigate to this page and enter your username and password or all the subsequent pages you attempt to navigate to will be BLANK. 

After logging in, you will see the same page you initially saw when opening WebAdvisor. From this page, click on the appropriate link for Students, Faculty, Employees, or Prospective Students checking on admission information.

You can also access WebAdvisor through Quack, the Student Kiosk, at quack.whitman.edu. After logging in, click on the WebAdvisor link on the left hand side of the page.

Students

Click on menu labled "Students"

Note: To return to the Student menu after each of the selections below, click on the Student Menu button in the upper right portion of the screen. To return to the Main menu with links to the Faculty, Propective Students, Students, and Employees menus, click on the Main Menu button also located in the upper right portion of the screen.

Whitman Web Kiosk (Quack) -

Clicking on this link will take you to the Student Kiosk where you will have access to other tools such as Selecting your meal plan and Adding Flex dollars to your account.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid by Year -

This is a record of how much financial aid you have receieved each year.

Financial Aid by Term -

This is a record of how much financial aid you have received each term.

Financial Aid Forms -

This page will list which forms are already recieved and which forms you still need to turn into the Financial Aid office in order to receive aid.

Accept or Reject Loans -

This page will allow you to accept or reject federal loans offered to you.

Change Loan Amount -

This page will allow you to change the amount of a federal loan offered to you.

Academic Profile

Grades - 

This page will allow you to select a term and view grades for that term. However, during the grading period at the end of each semester, this information may not be available for a period of time to allow for professors to submit the final grades and for the Registrar's office to record them. 

Grade Point Average by Term -

This page will allow you to select a term and view your grade point average for that term. However, during the grading period at the end of each semester, this information may not be available for a period of time to allow for professors to submit the final grades and for the Registrar's office to record them.

Unofficial Transcript -

This page will allow you to view an unofficial copy of your Undergraduate Transcipt which will include all classes you have taken to date.

Program Evaluation -

This page is not yet fully functional.

My Profile -

This page will allow you to view some of the basic information the college uses to identify you such as your preferred adress, emergency name and contact information, advisor, and major. If you see any discrepencies, you may report them to the appropriate office here on campus (generally the Registrar).

Search for Sections -

This link will take you to a form which you can fill out in order to search for available classes during the current semester or future semesters.

Custom Schedule -

Clicking on this will allow you to view your class schedule for the current or upcoming year. If registration is still open, you will also be allowed to make changes to your schedule here.

Time Entry

Time History -

If you are employed by the college, this area will show you what you have earned to date.

Time Entry-

This is an area where you can fill out an on-line time sheet if you are currently employed by the college. The department that you work for may or may not have an electronic time sheet enabled. If you cannot access the electronic time sheet and think that you should be able to, contact your supervisor or the business office to address this problem.

Faculty

Click on menu labled "Faculty"

*Note: To return to the Faculty menu after each of the selections below, click on the Faculty Menu button in the upper right portion of the screen. To return to the Main menu with links to the Faculty, Prospective Students, Students, and Employees menus, click on the Main Menu button also located in the upper right of the screen.
 

Position Profile

Position Summary -

Here you may view a list of the positions you have held at the college to date.

My Stipends -

Here you may view a list of your stipends to date.

Time Approval (for Supervisors) -

Here you may view a list of your employees and approve their timesheets by selecting the timesheet to be approved and clicking OK. At the bottom of the page.

Employee History (for Supervisors) -

Here you may view records of your employees.

 

Faculty Information

Advisees -

  1. Select a term from the pull down list or enter a date range
  2. Click OK
  3. A listing of your advisees for that period will be displayed.

Faculty Search for Sections -

  1. Select a term from the pull down list
  2. Enter the criteria by which to search for a class *Note: This can be by Subject, by Subject and Course Level, by Instructor or any key word in the Course Title, and/or by the Course Dates and Times.
  3. Once the criteria is entered Click Search
  4. A listing of classes meeting your criteria will be displayed

My Class Schedule -

  1. Select a term from the pull down list or enter a date range
  2. Click OK
  3. A listing of the classes you offer during that term will be displayed 

Custom Class Roster -

  1. Select a term from the pull down list or enter a date range
  2. Click OK.
  3. Click on the square to the left of any ONE you wish to see
  4. Click Submit

Search for Sections -

Employee Profile

Position Summary -

When selected will display information about Your position at the College.

Leave Plan Summary -

When selected will display a summary of sick and vacation amounts.

My Stipends -

When selected will display a list of stipends to date.

Pay Advices -

When year is selected, pay advices from that year will be displayed.
