Allison Keppel began her training in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, and
Hip-Hop with Elizabeth Lanning in Bellevue, Washington. She continued
on scholarship at Tremaine Dance Center, Westlake Dance Center, Spectrum Dance Theater, and received a B.A. in Dance from the University of Washington. She has also been a company member with Spectrum Dance Theater for 6 years under
Dale Merrill, and 5 years under Donald Byrd. She was a member
of Danielandsomesuperfriends for two seasons, and InEffect Hip-Hop
Company for one season. With Spectrum she performed at the Jazz Dance
World Congress in Germany, New York, and Mexico, and with Neil Young at
the White River Amphitheater. Allison has taught Jazz, Lyrical Jazz,
Ballet, Modern and Hip-Hop at various schools including the University
of Washington, Spectrum Dance Theater, Westlake Dance Center,
Elizabeth's Dance Dimensions, as well as master classes at Cornish
College of the Arts. Her choreography has been performed at the New
York City Dance Alliance Nationals, and with the Walla Walla Symphony.
She has been an adjudicator for competitions such as Dance Rave.
Allison's Jazz class incorporates basic Jazz techniques as wall as stylized, fluid and
percussive movements, with a strong ballet and modern basis of support
and an emphasis on the expression of emotion through movement.
