Lisa Bostwick is a native of upstate New York. Ms. Bostwick began her
ballet training at the age of twelve at a small school in Western New
York and continued her formal training at Central Pennsylvania Youth
Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and BalletMet. Lisa then chose to
attend Butler University from which she received a B.S in Arts
Administration with a Concentration in Dance, graduating with Highest
Honors. During this time Ms. Bostwick had the honor of training and
performing with the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg
Russia. Lisa performed with the Alabama Ballet for seven years and was
seen in soloist and principal roles in classical ballets such as
The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Swan Lake and George Balanchine's
Divertimento #15.
Ms. Bostwick has also performed in contemporary and modern works by
choreographers such as Margi Cole, Craig Patterson, Robert Battle,
Johan Renval and Teri Weksler, the director of Birmingham's resident
modern dance company Southern Dancerworks, with which she performed for
nine years. Having taught for many years in New York, Indianapolis, and
in Birmingham Ms. Bostwick believes that it important to recognize
students as individuals with unique strengths, needs, goals, and
personalities who deserve quality training that is appropriate for
their age and ability level. Ms. Bostwick currently resides in New York
City where she continues to dance and teach.
