Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC)

Description

The Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) acts as a liason between the Health Center and the students of Whitman College. SHAC assists in the delivery of information about the Health Center's varied services, promotes healthy lifestyles, and participates in campus health promotion activities. SHAC members review current programs and may make recommendations to the Health Center administration. SHAC members can also plan and/or become active in health related events in the wider Walla Walla community and beyond. Members of SHAC will have the opportunity to choose healthcare professionals who may come to campus to make presentations to SHAC members or other pre-health profession students. SHAC members will also have the opportunity to network and find experiences where they are able to job shadow physicians and other health care providers. SHAC members will be able to work together to investigate the availability of volunteer health program opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally.
