KWCW, General Manager

The General Manager (GM) of KWCW is responsible for the hiring and managing of the KWCW policy council. The GM also manages the budget and is the chief operator and legal head of the station. The GM makes final decisions on station policy and provides direction and leadership to the policy council. The GM must also ensure that the operation of the station is in conformance with the regulations specified in the station's broadcast license. The 2007-08 salary for the position of General Manager was $1000/semester. The position is a semester-long position.

Campus Media Nominations Process:

Campus Media Chief Officers are nominated by the Standing Nominations Committee in accordance with Article IX of the by-laws. The general procedure is outlined below:

1. The Nominations Chair shall solicit applications for available positions from the student body.
2. The candidates are evaluated by the Standing Nominations Committee based on their written applications as well as by interviews that the Committee conducts with each candidate. In these evaluations, the Nominations Committee typically consults with the outgoing Chief Officer in order to gain insight into the skills needed to be successful.
3. The Nominations Chair presents the decisions of the Standing Nominations Committee to a Joint Session of ASWC Congress. Both Houses of Congress select the Chief Officers of the media organizations by a simple majority vote after a waiting period of seven days. If the nominees are rejected, the floor is then opened to nominations.
