KWCW Radio
KWCW is a non-profit college radio station broadcasting from the mezzanine level of Reid Campus Center. We can be heard on 90.5FM in the greater Walla Walla area, or online at kwcw.net/listen. KWCW is a free format radio station and reports to the College Music Journal charting system. The station regularly sponsors concerts and other events for the Whitman College community. KWCW was founded in 1971 and is funded by the Associated Students of Whitman College (ASWC).
Our mission is to:
• Provide students and members of the greater Walla Walla community with the opportunity to develop skills working with the radio broadcasting medium by overwhelmingly prioritizing student and community produced programming
• Emphasize new, independently produced, and/or non-mainstream music to educate and entertain listeners
• Provide a forum for a plurality of viewpoints and voices
• Encourage its volunteers to creatively explore different realms of broadcasting, be it call-in talk radio, radio drama, comedy, live performances, airing of audio collages/pastiches, field recording, etc.
