Guidelines
- Identify the purpose of the club you wish to organize. The club purpose must
relate to general educational requirements: i.e., business, social science,
etc. or be of benefit to Whitman
College community.
- Complete the Student
Club & Organization application.
- Complete the ASWC New
Club form.
- Notify the ASWC
Secretary of your desire to be recognized as a student group upon turning in
the application.
- Provide a name of a Whitman College
staff or facility member as an advisor.
- The interested students and advisor should work
together in creating a constitution. All clubs and organizations must submit a constitution!
- Return completed paperwork and constitution
to the Student Activities Office for approval. (Reid Campus Center Room 202)
- The club constitution must be approved by the
ASWC Senate, and approved by the Student Activities Office (the Director of
Student Activities).
- Copies of the approved constitution of the
organization shall be filed with ASWC and the Student Activities Office.
- In order to gain
recognition by the Associated Students of Whitman College, a complete ASWC New
Club Form and a copy of your organization’s constitution must be approved by
the Director of Student Activities and then approved by the ASWC Senate.
The Student Activities Office along with the Associated
Students of Whitman College, reserves the right to deny a club/organization
based on safety or liability risks to the students and/or the College.
