In compliance with the Clery Act, a federally mandated campus security and crime statistics policy, Whitman College reports and publishes the number of sexual assault incidents which are reported to us each year. Under the guidelines of the Clery Act, sexual assaults are reported under the categories of Forcible Sex Offenses and Non-Forcible Sex Offenses. There is no differentiation between completed and attempted sex offenses in the statistical disclosure. The two headings can be further broken down into the following categories:
Forcible Sex Offenses
Non-Forcible Sex Offenses
In compliance with the Clery Act, crime statistics are reported on a calendar year (January-December) rather than an academic year. Statistics for the “new” year must be reported and published by October 1 of the following year. Whitman College includes all sexual assault incidents reported, including those that are reported using our anonymous, confidential Sexual Misconduct Report Form. Listed below are Whitman College’s sexual offense statistics for the four most current years.
