Building Managers
Communication Skills
- Establish communication with event contact person prior to
event
- Conclude communication at the close of the event for
consultation and feedback
- Communicate changes in set-ups, additional requests,
complaints, and compliments to the Scheduling & Events Office and/or
Catering Office
- Complete a "shift report" at the completion of each shift
- Suggest methods of improvement for services in all areas of
the Campus Center, including changes in procedures,
policies, and physical facilities
- Establish a positive rapport with students, faculty, alumni,
and the public

Check set-ups prior to scheduled event reservation times,
insuring proper equipment set-up, correct functioning of audio-visual
equipment, comfortable temperature and lighting

Assist in maintaining the general professional appearance of
the Campus Center

Be responsible for confronting and reporting violations of Campus Center
and College policies

Know and understand all emergency procedures concerning fire
alarms, electrical failures, elevator emergencies, injuries, storms, and other
emergency situations

Demonstrate an ability to function on the job with limited
supervision

Possess an ability to cope with diversified responsibility

Demonstrate an ability to work with and constructively
supervise peers
Practical Skills

Familiarity with the Reid Campus
Center, including the
staff and services

Attend training scheduled training sessions and bi-monthly
staff meetings

Reset rooms as outlined by the daily schedule

Tour the building at least once an hour, making certain that
exterior doors are not propped open

Help keep the building as clean and neat as possible
-
Possess the ability to move and lift equipment weighing up
to 60 pounds
