The Provost and Dean of the Faculty is the chief academic officer of the College and as Provost represents Whitman College in the absence of the President.
In addition to managing the academic affairs of the College, the Provost and Dean of the Faculty oversees Penrose Library, the athletic program, the Office of the Registrar, Off Campus Studies, Sheehan Art Gallery, the Center for Teaching and Learning and other operational offices.
