Whitman Students
The registrar’s office will
handle all Whitman student registrations for the WFR and WFA classes.
Whitman students can register any time during the semester for WFR
courses (SSRA 242a and SSRA 242b) or SSRA 240 (WFA) with Stacey Giusti
in the registrars office. These classes fill up early so it is
recommended to register in October or November for the January WFR
course.
Community Members/ Non-Whitman Students
There
are two spaces available in the January and March WFR courses for
non-students and 15 spaces available in the April Wilderness first
Aid/WFR recert class. Registration for these spaces are handled by the
Whitman College Outdoor Program Rental Shop on a first come first

January 4-13, 2008, Wilderness First Responder, Whitman College
This 80-hour course with the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS provides the tools to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. February 16-18, 2008, Wilderness First Responder Re-certification Course
This scenario-based course is specifically designed to meet the needs of recertifying WFR students. Includes adult heartsaver CPR. Whitman: $225. Community: $240.

April 4-6, 2008, Wilderness First Aid, Whitman College Fast paced and hands-on, this two and a half day course with the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS covers a wide range of wilderness medicine topics for people who travel and work in the outdoors. Those with previous training may also use it for wilderness medicine re-certification. The class will start on Friday with a CPR recertification from 6-10pm and then run eight hours each day on Saturday and Sunday. Whitman: $225, Community: $225.
