The 17th annual Sweet Onion Crank rock climbing competition took place at Whitman College on Saturday April 26th, 2008, and was a smashing success!

The next Sweet Onion Crank will be held in April of 2010.

The time has come, as many of you know, for our climbing program to go through some growing pains. On April 27th, 2008 (yes, one day after Sweet Onion Crank), we began removing holds from our old climbing wall in preperation for it's replacement. Construction broke ground not long afterwards, and as of the beginning of the 2008/2009 school year, what once was our climbing wall is now a very large hole in the ground. The installation of our new climbing wall is part of the larger Sherwood Athletic Center Renovation, and will be completed sometime in the fall of 2009.  In any case... with no wall, there can be no Crank, so it's with great regred that we announce there will be no 2009 Sweet Onion Crank. Rather, you are all warmly invited to come enjoy our scrumptious new wall when it's completed in fall of 2009.
