April 4th-6th, 2008 - Wilderness First Aid, Whitman College
Fast paced and hands-on, this two and a half day course with the
Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS covers a wide range of wilderness
medicine topics for people who travel and work in the outdoors. Those
with previous training may also use it for wilderness medicine
re-certification. The class will start on Friday with a CPR
recertification from 6-10pm and then run eight hours each day on
Saturday and Sunday. Whitman: $225, Community: $225. For more

April 16, 2008 - Bryan Smith Lecture
Environmental Activist, Film Makers, and Whitewater Kayaker, Bryan Smith, will be visiting Whitman on April 16th to give a lecture on the environmental degredation of British Columbia's rivers. He will also be showing his new film on the subject, 49 megawatts. The lecture will be free to all at 7:30 in Kimball, to be followed by kayak polo at 9:30 in the pool. April 26th, 2008 - Sweet Onion Crank, Whitman College
The 2008 17th annual Sweet Onion Crank rock climbing competition
will that takes place at Whitman College on Saturday April, 26.
Registration starts at 8:30am and climbing starts at 9:00am. Here is a
