Predeparture Orientation

Whitman College requires all study abroad/OCS participants to attend a mandatory Predeparture Orientation the semester before going abroad. During the orientation we discuss health and safety, academics abroad, financial aid, cultural differences, travel tips, and other important information. There will also be an opportunity at the orientation for students to speak with other students who previously studied on their program about what to expect while overseas.

Predeparture Orientation for U.S. Partner Programs

Students studying on a U.S. Partner Program will also be required to attend a Predeparture Orientation.  These sessions are held with others attending the same program and the OCS staff invites program alum to speak with you about their experiences and what to expect in your new city.
