Outside Scholarships

Many off-campus study program sponsors and some national organizations offer their own need-based and/or merit scholarships to help finance off-campus study. These are excellent sources of funding to help cover your expenses abroad and augment funding you may already receive from Whitman College.

For information about what outside (non-Whitman) scholarships are available and how to apply, please review the Outside Scholarship List or ask a member of the OCS staff.

Deadlines for outside scholarships are typically three months to one year prior to the start of your term abroad and late applications are rarely accepted. Therefore, we encourage students who anticipate needing extra funds to study off-campus to investigate the possibilities for outside scholarships early.
