During the 2008-09 season, Sheehan Art Gallery experienced the highest level of involvement by Whitman and Walla Walla community members in recent history, according to Dawn Forbes, gallery director. She says the gallery’s 2009-10 schedule, which showcases the extraordinary talents of students and faculty at Whitman as well as those of visiting artists, is “very exciting,” and she expects the record level of interest to continue.
The schedule is:

| Oct. 15-Nov. 22 | Spectra, Stream, Strata: A Retrospective Exhibition of the Works of Neil Meitzler. |

Next year’s lineup of exhibits addresses Sheehan’s long-term programming goal of supporting the college's central mission of providing a liberal arts education, and maintains the high quality of exhibitions associated with the Sheehan Gallery, said Forbes.
Forbes welcomes ideas and requests for upcoming Sheehan exhibits from the community. “If you’d like to see an exhibit, or if you’d like to include a visiting educator or if you have a private collection you have amassed, please feel free to come to me with your proposals. I have found that looking for exhibitions close to home reveals the richness and depth of the surrounding community.”
Exhibits are free and open to the public.
