Whitman voices battle for time-honored prizes at Choral Contest on April 24

WALLA WALLA, Wash.— Whitman’s Choral Contest, an honored tradition of more than 80 years, promises a battle to finish for first place in the categories Best Male Group, Best Female Group, and Best Interlude Performance when Greek and Independent groups compete on Friday, April 24.

The awards are coveted and the competition fierce. The Walla Walla community is invited to join the Whitman community in witnessing this harmonious battle for first place at 7 p.m. in Cordiner Hall. Each of several groups performs a traditional and a modern piece. Recent favorites include the traditional “Molly Malone” and the modern “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from the Disney movie “Mulan.” For a listen back at history Click here to listen to Songs from the 1957 Choral Contest .
