The clinic runs from 8 to 11 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m.
The cost is $30 per registration ($20 for additional members from the same coaching staff).
Interested persons are asked to RSVP by contacting Whitman assistant coach John Mietus by e-mail (john.mietus@gmail.com) or phone (509 527-5212).
Bridgeland’s clinic focuses on the nuances of the dribble-drive offense. His unique experience with this cutting edge system includes years of implementation on a national stage at both the NCAA Division I and Division III levels.
While coaching at the University of Puget Sound, Bridgeland employed and perfected the offense en route to building the No. 2 winning percentage in all of NCAA DIII. At Pepperdine, he helped the Waves to their highest scoring average in decades while utilizing the penetration-based offense.
In his first season (2008-09) at Whitman, Bridgeland’s offensive system propelled the Missionaries to finish third in the Northwest Conference in scoring, and helped produce the No. 1 and No. 4 leading scorers in the conference.
Clinic attendees receive a comprehensive information packet (one per staff) and will observe detailed live demonstrations (with current Whitman players) of how coaches can implement and perfect the system. Coaches can also ask for suggestions on how to adapt the principles to fit their particular teams.
The clinic also will cover Whitman’s attacking pressure defense.
The six-hour clinic qualifies for Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) professional development clock hours.
