Sam Epstein earned a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from Whitman College in 2008, with the intention of teaching saxophone at Whitman post-graduation. Sam performed with the Washington Music Educators Association All-State Jazz Band in high school, and received Outstanding Soloist honors at many jazz festivals throughout high school and college, including the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival at the University of Idaho. He hopes to pass on the dedication to music instilled in him by Leo Potts, his mentor and predecessor.
