Peter Crawford is director of the Whitman Wind Ensemble and Head of the Music Technology Program at Whitman College. Before coming to Whitman, Pete taught at the College of Southern Idaho and at the University of Arizona. He studied music education and jazz at the University of North Texas, received a Bachelor of Music Education from Valley City State University and a Master of Trombone performance from the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho.

He is active as a performer and clinician in the areas of jazz and concert band. He performs regularly on trombone and piano in groups that include Ethel Ennis, Lionel Hampton New York Big Band, Frank Sinatra Jr., The Temptations, Dizzy Gillespie Tribute Band, Slide Hampton, Robert Curnow Big Band, Cab Calloway Orchestra, Dee Daniels , Bill Watrous, Al Gray, The Drifters, Jazz Standard Time, and many other legends of music.
