Around the World in Five Days
Faculty and staff are invited to join in the festivities for the second annual Around the World in Five Days celebration, sponsored by the Intercultural Center and the Language Learning Center (LLC). Each day will focus on specific countries, culminating in a celebration Friday evening at the Glover Alston Center with live music and community viewing of televised world cup rugby.
Schedule of Events
Monday, Oct. 17: Japan and China
- 12 –1 p.m. Roundtable discussion on living/working/studying in these countries (LLC, Olin 316)
- 8 – 9 p.m. Open House at Tekisuijuku and Asian Studies Houses
Tuesday, Oct. 18: Kenya, Lesotho, South Africa and Tanzania
- 12 – 1 p.m. Roundtable discussion on living/working/studying in these countries (LLC, Olin 316)
- 4 – 5 p.m. Work Abroad Workshop put on by Off-Campus Studies (Olin 157)
Wednesday, Oct. 19: Germany and Spain
- 12 – 1 p.m. Roundtable discussion on living/working/studying in these countries (LLC, Olin 316)
- 8 – 9 p.m. Open House at Das Haus (German Interest House)
Thursday, Oct. 20: France and New Zealand
- 12 – 1 p.m. Roundtable discussion on living/working/studying in these countries (LLC, Olin 316)
- 8 – 9 p.m. Open House at La Maison (French Interest House)
Friday, Oct. 21: Around the World Celebration
- 4 – 5:30 p.m. Live music from Rubberneck and food from around the world at Glover Alston Center
- 7 – 9 p.m. Semi-final World Cup Rugby match on television at Glover Alston Center
