Green Corps

Early application deadline:  September 30, 2012
Final application deadline:
  Early March, 2013

Eligibility:

  • Most applicants are recent college graduates, because the program is for those who are ready to launch their environmental careers. However, there is no age limitation to the program.
  • Applicants have a diversity of interests and experiences. We are looking for people who are serious about saving the planet, have experience with environmental or social change issues, and have demonstrated leadership experience.
  • International applicants who have a VISA with work permit are invited to apply. Green Corps does not arrange for work permits or act as a sponsor through any governmental or private job or training program. As a nonprofit organization, Green Corps is unable to devote financial and staff resources in assisting applicants to obtain work authorization.

Award summary and conditions:  Green Corps’ Field School for Environmental Organizing trains college graduates to run environmental campaigns, starting by building a core group of activists and finishing by convincing decision-makers to pass laws, change policies and create reforms to protect our environment.  But Green Corps is more than a school – it’s a real-world endeavor.  Trainees start working on campaigns from the start of their education.  They make a difference, starting on Day 1.  Green Corps' one-year, full-time, paid Field School for Environmental Organizing includes intensive classroom training, hands-on field experience running urgent environmental and public health campaigns, and career placement in positions with leading environmental groups.

Application process:  Submit online application:http://www.greencorps.org/sites/default/files/anniv_page/index.html
