Award summary and conditions: The Amgen Scholars U.S. Program provides hundreds of undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on research experience in science and biotechnology at ten of the nation’s leading educational institutions (California Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Barnard College, Howard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of California Berkeley, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, University of California San Francisco, and University of Washington). Financial support (see individual university’s summer research program website for more information) varies by university.
Application process: Application process (see www.amgen.org, “How to Apply”) varies by university. Applicants may apply to as many host universities as interested in. At a minimum, a transcript, letter of recommendation and personal statement or essay will be required.
