A letter from Chuck Cleveland, dean of students

Dear Whitman Parents,

You may be aware of news about the swine flu that originated in Mexico and has spread to at least five states in the U.S.

At Whitman, we are monitoring the situation closely. Currently, the most critical step to take is to make sure students are informed about the situation and that they are aware of basic recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control. To that end, President Bridges sent a note to the campus community that I am sharing with you.

Here is a link to the note. While our campus health staff and local public heath officials believe the risk of the virus spreading here is very low, we believe it is important to monitor the situation and stay informed.
