Workshop Leader: Dr. W. Brad Johnson, Prof. of Psychology, US Naval Academy and Johns Hopkins University.

The Center for Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce a workshop on faculty mentoring. The workshop will focus on two principal objectives. First, we will have a two hour training session on faculty mentoring led by Brad Johnson. Second, we will engage in a planning session to develop a mentoring program tailored to the institutional needs and culture of Whitman College. The time commitment is for the full morning of Wed. May 27th and for 90 minutes on Thursday, May 28th . Despite the budget constraints, we will provide small stipends to participants.

We invite all tenured and tenure-track faculty to participate in the workshop. In particular, faculty members currently involved in mentoring through informally established relationships or through departmental or programmatic initiatives are encouraged to participate. Also, anyone interested in serving as a faculty mentor in the future should consider attending. Please sign up b contacting Kathleen Hutchison. All participants will be encouraged to serve as Faculty Mentors in the newly developed program.
