Rich Jacks, Director of Counseling/Health Services, has been at Whitman College since 1979. Rich is also an Associate Professor of Psychology and the faculty representative for the ski team. He received his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Stanford in 1972.
Sharon Kaufman-Osborn, Counselor at Whitman College since 1984. After graduation from Oberlin College with a BA in Psychology, Sharon earned her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. In addition to working with students individually, she leads workshops on sexuality issues, relationships, communication, and self-nurturing. Sharon is also the advisor to Hillel-Shalom, the Jewish student group on campus.
Tracee L. Anderson, Counselor at Whitman College since 1991. She earned her master’s degree in Social Welfare from UCLA. In addition to counseling students individually, Tracee conducts workshops and assists with Residence Life staff training.
Marie Metheny, Counselor at Whitman College since 2002. She earned her BA in Women’s Studies and Counseling from San Francisco State University and her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from New College of California, San Francisco. She works with students individually and she is the advisor for the Peer Listener Program.
Adam Kirtley, Stuart Coordinator of Religious and Spiritual Life at Whitman College since 2006. He received his BA in Religion from Wabash College and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Emory University. In addition to addressing the spiritual needs of students, he works to facilitate religious life and promote religious diversity on campus. Adam is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) tradition.
