Event Planning
Planning an Event? Things to Consider!
Do you have an appropriate space?
This should be the first item on your to do list. You may have a perfect venue in mind, but always check to see if it is availalbe before confirming any details or signing a contract. The Co llege offers many different event venues to fit your event needs. We have many meeting rooms for sizes up to 36, classrooms for sizes up to 55 and auditoriums ranging from 60 - 1300. When choosing a space think about how many people you think may attend. Do you want a large space that may look empty or a smaller room that may fill beyond capacity? Does your speaker or performer have any specific requirements in a venue? These are just a few questions to consider about your space. Contact the Scheduling & Events Office, (509)527-5366, Reid 202.
Planning on food?
Student groups and Whitman community groups can provide their own food as long it is not being served to the public. Food being sold and/or served to the public must be provided by Bon Appetit. Any non-Whitman organization using our campus must use Bon Appetit. Contact Bon Appetit Catering as soon as you have tentatively booked your room. Bon Appetit’s catering office is in the Reid Campus Center, (509)527-5127.
