Make a Difference Day is a national day of Community Service. Across the country millions of people help complete projects to improve their communities. This year we collaborated with Walla Walla High School students and Americorps volunteers for Make a Difference Day and sent 86 volunteers to 12 local organizations.
- BMAC Food Bank - sorting and bagging food from the Realtor's food drive
- Children's Museum - exhibit maintenance and sharing exhibits with kids
- Corps of Engineers - trail repair near Bennington Lake
- Fort Walla Walla Museum - winterizing grounds
- Heart to Heart - promoting World AIDS Day
- Humane Society - walking dogs and petting cats
- Kooskooskie Commons - planting wetland plants and digging up invasive weeds
- Migrant Head Start - painting classroom doors
- Native Plant Society - building compost bins
- Odd Fellows Home - visiting with residents
- Volunteer Chore Services - cleaning the walls of a client's home to be
painted
- YWCA - planting daffodils in remembrance of women who have lost their
lives to domestic violence
