In an effort to provide a local framework and context for the marginalized narratives that are encountered in the themes and texts covered in the course, CAV includes a field trip as part of its curriculum each semester. This is intended to stimulate thought and discussion both in and out of the classroom while providing inspiration for the final project.
Each semester the CAV classes visit the Whitman Mission and the Tamastslikt Cultural Institute.
