Ankeny Field

Located in the middle of campus, Ankeny Field provides a central gathering area for Whitman students. Ultimate Frisbee happens seemingly year-round. In the fall, rugby, pick-up soccer and football games are played on Ankeny. Springtime brings the lacrosse teams, intramural softball and a “let’s get outside” atmosphere. Spontaneous games of all sorts routinely spring up on the field. During the intramural flag football championship, one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, students bring couches, lawn chairs and blankets to pack the sidelines for both the men's and women's games.
