Government
One of ASWC’s primary functions is to serve as the student government entity for Whitman College. There are several distinct elements of ASWC’s governing arm:

Executive Council

The Executive Council (EC) are the at-large officers: President, Policy Chair, Finance Chair, Programming Chair, and Hiring Chair. Each of these officers are elected for a term of one academic year in the Spring of each year. The EC is responsible for setting the legislative agenda for the year and being the voice of the students.

Senate

Every class elects four Senators to represent their interests in the ASWC Senate. This legislative body meets to discuss policy, finance, and works to put on programming for the entire campus. To better serve these tasks, Senators are assigned to a standing committee: Policy, Finance, or Programming. These committees meet as needed in order to best serve student interests and needs.

Oversight Committee

The Oversight Committee is the final check and balance on ASWC. They are in a way the Supreme Court, as they have the power to check all the records and can investigate any possible wrongdoing by Senators or the Executive Council.

Student Resources and Administrative Support

These two hired positions, the Club Administrative Clerk and the Public Relations and Communications Director, help administer all recognized clubs and represent and adovocate for student issues.
