Q: Who is a member of ASWC?

A: All Whitman students who have paid the Activities Fee (nearly all full-time students) are members of ASWC.

Q: What do I get for being a member?

A: There are a number of benefits to being a member of ASWC. The most important being that you are granted free access to all ASWC events including speakers, bands, dances, and events. ASWC also serves all members by representing their interests as the student government of the College.

Q: How can I get involved with ASWC?

A: Each year ASWC needs dozens of people to serve as Senators, members of the Executive Council, club representatives, outside students to serve on various committees such as the Oversight Committee and the Elections Committee. ASWC also makes student appointments to important College Committees and Advisory Committees. ASWC Programming always needs help with bringing speakers and major bands to Campus. Q: What do I do if I have suggestions or complaints?

A: Contact your Senator and let them know, or you may contact the member of the Executive Council responsible for that area. 

Q: How do I start a club?

A: Check out the Office of the Secretary's club page. The page contains all the information you will need to start a new club.

Q: I am upset about the way that something is done on campus and I want to change it. How do I go about that?

A: Contact the Policy Chair with your comments. (S)He can give you some direction.
