The Policy Committee handles all legislative initiatives and proposals in ASWC, and lobby the College Administration supporting the interests of ASWC members. Below are some of the legislative proposals ASWC Policy can do.
The ASWC By-laws is the document that created and structered ASWC - its Senate and House, Campus Media, Event Chairs, and much more. If you want to see something change within or about ASWC, we should propose to change them through a by-law proposal.
Resolutions are non-binding documents that state a goal for ASWC and Whitman College, or an expressed stance towards any national or international situation or issue.
ASWC Acts are binding provisions that will require action by ASWC or Whitman College.
The ASWC Constitution provides the foundation for ASWC, its bylaws, and Bill of Rights.
Town Hall meetings are an informal setting for administration, faculty, and/or staff and students to address a certain topic or to discuss general concerns by both administration, faculty, staff, or students.
