Each summer you are invited to participate in week of intellectual stimulation and camaraderie. During Summer College there are morning sessions, afternoon sessions, and a field trip, exploring a theme from the liberal arts perspective.

Summer College has transformed into a shorter, more engaging session of intellectually challenging classes, lively discussions and entertaining experiences on the Whitman College campus. Join us June 8 to 11, 2011 to connect with the Whitman experience of today.
We are becoming more closely connected thanks to travel, technology and world conflict. How do we effectively partner in our world community? How can we better understand one another? Summer College 2011 draws upon Whitman’s Global Studies initiative in Seeking a Global Perspective.

Arrive a day early for Summer College and participate in one of these field trips.
(These two programs will need a minimum number to sign up and will be limited to 10 participants.)

Kayaking at Palouse Falls with the Outdoor Program (locations subject to change depending on conditions)
Registration is due by May 1. Summer College begins with a welcome reception at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 8th in Prentiss Hall and concludes with Saturday’s lunch.
Full registration: $300 per person: dormitory-style housing in Prentiss Hall, all events, and meals.
Day student: $200 per person: full program without housing and breakfasts.
Lectures only option: $100: Wednesday reception, lunches and lecture sessions.
Optional Tuesday and/or Saturday night in Prentiss: add $40 per person, per night.
