Activities, Clubs, and Jobs on Campus: Drama, Chorale, Chamber

Your typical day at Whitman:

My typical day at Whitman starts off with roughly 4-5 presses of the snooze button followed by some quick mental math to see how much time I need to get to class.  Once I’m out of bed I run to the Phi house and grab a little breakfast and coffee before heading to class.  In class I receive lighthearted commentary about the fact that I am still in my P.J.’s and have brought my breakfast to class, but if you had frog P.J.’s you would wear them to class too…  After class I go home before choir practice, then on to either another class, or a little relaxation.  In the late afternoon/evening I go to dance class then play rehearsal, usually grabbing some food from Reid Campus Center on the way.  After working on the play, I either do some homework, or go to A Cappella rehearsal.  Upon returning home and completing my homework I set my alarm and do it all over again!

What is your favorite place on campus?

Ankeny Field.  There is so much going on, and so many great memories I’ve had on that field.  Whether it’s the time between classes when I can run into a friend, or just sitting on the grass enjoying the sunset over Penrose Library, it’s just a great place.

What do you plan to do after graduating from Whitman?

Am I graduating already?  I’m tentatively planning to move to a major city (New York, LA, Seattle, etc.) and see if I can perform professionally somewhere.  If that doesn’t work out… I’m sure I’ll think of something.

What special skills do you have?

I can touch my elbows behind my back, and my tongue to my nose!
