The Academic Resource Center (ARC), the home of academic counseling, the Student Academic Advisers (the SAs), the Tutor Program, and disability services, is the place to go to for academic support. At the ARC you can pick up planners to help you schedule your semester, lay out your major requirements, and create a tentative 4-year plan. The ARC staff can also provide personalized guidance in study skills, schedule planning, goal definition, concentration, motivation and test preparation.
The Academic Resource Center recognizes difference in skills, talents, and backgrounds. By mentoring and advising students, faculty, and staff, the Academic Resource Center fosters and promotes learning, scholarship, and individual success. Through on-going campus-wide education and awareness, the Academic Resource Center creates opportunities for students to develop academic confidence and self-advocacy. We believe Whitman students have within them the ability to persist, succeed, and fully pursue their educational aspirations.
