BEST ASPECT OF YOUR INTERNSHIP “Every Friday we have lab meetings with all members of the Neurocognitive Development Lab. Because there are so many different studies currently in progress within the lab, these Friday meetings allow us to learn about what other research is currently being performed, what kind of data has been collected and what statis- tics are being run. Furthermore, these Friday meetings are taken as a time for professional development. Post docs and graduate students present on applying for graduate school, creating a good CV, developing a thesis proposal and many other valuable professional skills. These meetings also are an opportunity for graduate students to practice their research presentations for us and bounce around ideas between their colleagues to improve their research. These meetings remind me that I am a part of a team, and help me to grasp the col- laboration that must occur between scientists in order to perform effective studies. “
