Whittie internships 2o12 This summer, 82 Whitman students are put- ting their liberal arts educations to work with internships funded by the Whitman Internship Grant. This cohort represents a significant up- tick in numbers from last year, due in large part to increased funding for the program. First-year students were also eligible to apply for the first time this year, in addition to sophomores and ju- niors. Thanks to this support, students are apply- ing their critical thinking skills to a wide range of internships all across the country, from or- ganic gardening in Seattle and fact-checking for San Francisco-based publication McSweeney’s to Explore the studying brain chemistry in New York City. Stu- experiences! dents work 20 hours per week for 10 weeks dur- ing the summer and earn stipends of $2,300.
