Nick analyzes data to determine what factors attract companies to Oregon, writes regional economic reports, prepares spending patterns from the data-center industry and the solar manufacturing industry for analyses and updates the Business Oregon website with export reports. BEST ASPECT OF YOUR INTERNSHIP “The work itself is by far the best aspect of this internship. I have a lot of responsibility and am tasked with work that has real benefit for businesses in Oregon. The work has been challenging, but manageable. I get to put my own stamp on a lot of the work that I’m doing, since I get to analyze the data that I collect. I also have many opportunities to publish the work that I’ve been doing. I recently finished a series of reports that de- tailed employment, income, population and industry competitiveness indicators for each region in Oregon. These reports will be published in the coming weeks on Business Oregon’s website and distributed to many small businesses and local governments throughout Oregon. Though things have been a little slow at times, overall I’m very happy with the work I’ve been doing this summer.”
