BEST ASPECT OF YOUR INTERNSHIP “So far the best aspect about my summer internship has been the breadth of responsibilities and skills I have acquired. I greatly enjoy being involved with a multitude of projects that give me the opportunity to develop practical work skills beneficial for graduate school or a job in paleontology. I also enjoy the individual freedom in being able to work with Prof. Pat Spencer to structure the goal and purpose of the internship instead of working within predetermined parameters. With such an open-ended structure I feel I am really able to pursue academic research that truly interests me and that is personally applicable to my educational and career goals. I also work at The Kid’s Place preschool in Walla Walla, and I have been able to share a lot of my research with the pre-schoolers. I really enjoy the opportunity to get children interested in geology and science in general this young in their lives. ”
