This research will aid the Down- town Walla Walla Foundation in creating residential space in historical buildings. BEST ASPECT OF YOUR INTERNSHIP “The communication I have with business owners, board members and other leaders in town is a wonderfully eye-opening experience. I make appointments with business owners to meet and fill out the survey I helped to create. The contact I have with business owners has pulled me out of my comfort zone and taught me how to communicate comfortably in a professional setting. The survey includes questions about the usefulness of certain events downtown, the increase in fines for parking tickets and how to make a park downtown more family friendly. While one business owner will feel very passionate about a certain issue, the next will some- times feel completely indifferent about the topic. It is interesting to get such a wide array of responses and then compile them to figure out what downtown merchants need and want the most. I enjoy knowing that the survey will be helpful to the foundation in serving its members.”
