She also assists in marketing and fundraising. BEST ASPECT OF YOUR INTERNSHIP “I would have to say that the best aspects of my summer internship are the opportunities it’s provided me. Whether it’s getting the opportunity to write a research paper on traditional medicine, working with the Gates Foundation and Saving Lives at Birth for our grants or communicating with a network of radiologists who are involved in global health. This so closely follows my own interests, and I hope my relationship with ITW can continue. In fact, as of two weeks ago, we have been drafting a proposal to implement our system in rural (southcentral) Alaska as part of the Indian Health Services. This system implementation would be very similar to what we’re currently doing in Uganda, and I hope to take part next summer as well if the proposal goes through. ITW has given me amazing networking opportunities and has been a great overall ‘launchpad.’”
