Whitman College's annual art and literary magazine
blue moon is Whitman College's annual art and literary magazine. It is entirely student-staffed and features outstanding art, prose, poetry, music, and film from the Whitman community – students, faculty, alumni, and staff. The Columbia Scholastic Press Association awarded blue moon Vol. 23 (2008) with the Gold Medal and the College Magazine Silver Crown in 2010, 2011, and 2013. The magazine has also received recognition through Certificate of Merit and placement awards for individual works and aspects of the magazine.

About Us:
blue moon is Whitman College's annual art and literary magazine. It is entirely student-staffed and features outstanding art, prose, and poetry from the Whitman community – students, faculty, alumni, and staff. The publication, in its 26th year, receives financial support from ASWC and donations from campus offices, local businesses, and our individual readers.

Submit:
Submissions for Vol. 26 of blue moon have closed. Check back in the fall for more information about next year's edition.
All pieces should be submitted via email attachment to bluemoon@whitman.edu. You are welcome to submit pieces to multiple genres. All pieces are judged anonymously.
Submission Guidelines:
Art
No more than 5 pieces per artist. JPEG files are preferred, with a minimum 300dpi.
Prose
No more than 3 pieces of 15 pages or less (double spaced, Times New Roman) per artist.
Poetry
No more than 4 pieces per artist.
Video
No more than 4 pieces per artist, H.264/AAC format preferred.
Music
No more than 5 pieces per artist, AAC or ALAC format preferred.
Events:
blue moon endeavors to keep Whitman weird through a series of events designed to explore Whitman's creative talents. For updates, follow the student listserv, as well as the official Facebook page.
