The Gamma Zeta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi was chartered at Whitman College in 1916. Founded on August 8, 1839 in Oxford Ohio, Beta Theta Pi is the oldest national Greek organization on the Whitman campus and has initiated over 165,000 members world-wide.

We Gamma Zeta Betas are a group of young men committed to striving for excellence in every aspect of our lives at Whitman. Over the years Gamma Zeta Betas have been successful in every field of endeavor that Whitman has to offer, be it on the athletic field, the debate floor, the concert hall or the classroom. Consequently, in addition to upholding the fraternal ideals of our national organization, we value the diversity of our members and their interests.
