Whitman College presents Northwest Conference Scholar Athlete awards each spring to students who have lettered in at least one varsity sport, maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 at Whitman, and received a favorable recommendation from the coaching staff.
Beginning with the 2001-02 academic year, first-year students were no longer eligible for Scholar Athlete honors.
