1995-96 NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete

Whitman's Castle Funatake was one of only 10 athletes who were honored by the NAIA as 1995-96 All-America Scholar-Athletes for swimming and diving. The award goes to juniors and seniors who have a minimum cumulative grade point of 3.5 and have met the NAIA national qualifying standard in at least one event. The Whitman women's swim team as a group registered a combined grade point average of 3.41 for the fall 1995 semester. The grade point average for the men's team for that semester was 3.2.

1995-96 Team Awards

Nathan Engman and Kim Adler received the 1995-96 Team MVP Awards in a vote of team members. It was Engman's third consecutive MVP honor.

The Most Improved Awards went to Alex Susbauer and Dana Miller, while Engman and Joan Ogle took home the Most Inspirational Awards.

Team captains during the year were Engman, Ogle, Scott Daukas and Jane Leblond.
