Whitman offers large, modular studios filled with natural light. Classes are small, and students have late night access to all the studios.

In the Book Arts lab there are two Vandercook Proofing presses, two Chandler and Price platen printing presses, 120 Print Drawers of California case type, selection from 6pt. to 72pt., an Anderson and Vreeland 16 x 20 Photo A2 Photo Polymer plate maker, and a complete book binding and finishing lab.

The Printmaking studio offers a Charles Brand Intaglio press (bed size 24" x 40"), a Takach Garfield electric Intaglio press (bed size 33" x 48"), a Charles Brand Lithography press (bed size 22" x 44"), a Charles Brand Lithography press (bed sized 33" x 62"), a light table for silkscreen printing, a silkscreen wash station, papermaking equipment, a sheetmetal shear, and a rosin dust box for aquatint.

The Ceramics studio has two full-sized gas kilns, three large electric kilns, two small test kilns, an outdoor raku kiln, over twenty wheels, a full size slab-roller, a glaze-mixing lab, an extruder, a slip-o-matic, a pug-mill, and a large, clean working area.

For the photography students there are two 24 hour access student darkrooms.

In the brand-new Multimedia Lab in Hunter Conservatory, students have access to the latest in video editing, graphic design, audio editing, scanning, image editing, 3-D rendering, and printing technologies.
