Amazing Golf
John Allen, ’68, and his son Peter Allen, ’98, both of Tacoma, were competing at the Royal Colwood Golf and Country Club in Victoria, BC, on Saturday, August 23rd, 2003. They were in separate foursomes with Peter’s group trailing John’s group by half an hour. At the par three fourth hole John hit a 7 iron that landed the ball in the hole- his first ace ever! Thirty minutes later Peter addressed the ball at the same 168 yard hole- with the same result! This too was Peter’s first hole-in-one. It was later even discovered that they had used the exact same make and model of club and ball. You can find this story in the Wednesday, August 27th edition of The Seattle Times.
