For the past two years Jordan Kirk, ’97, has worked with an interagency team in Seattle to improve outcomes for youth in the foster care system. As a result of these efforts, the Department of Social and Health Services and Seattle Public Schools have recently signed a groundbreaking agreement to proactively identify the educational needs of foster youth within the school system. This program is the first of its kind in the nation. You can read more about the program and even listen to an interview of Kirk by 94.9 KUOW radio at http://www.kuow.org/DefaultProgram.asp?ID=7688.
